Of Interest from Adbooks Listserv

Filed under: from your prof — sunyprof @ 10:06 am

Here is the upcoming Adbooks listserv discussion schedule. Books are chosen for discussion by member voting totals. Check out the annotated list. And note the last three titles by Bloor, Dowd and Lowry. Maybe “different” narratives for “outside comfort zone” reading, heh? Seems a very different direction from THE GIVER, e.g., for Lowry. I’m going to look for these titles at B&N on my next trip.

I thought you might be interested in reading/contributing to the discussion of THIRTEEN REASONS which begins on Wednesday of this week. I expect this will be an intense discussion and you have lots to share. Nothing would excite me more this week than to see your posts on the listserv emails. KES

April 1 – April 15: BEASTLY by Alex Flinn

April 16 – April 31: THIRTEEN REASONS WHY by Jay Asher

May 1 – May 15: ELIJAH OF BUXTON by Christopher Paul Curtis

May 16 – May 31: ZEN AND THE ART OF FAKING IT by Jordan Sonnenblick

June 1 – June 15: TAKEN by Edward Bloor

June 16 – June 30: THE LONDON EYE MYSTERY by Siobhan Dowd

July 1 – July 15: THE WILLOUGHBYS by Lois Lowry

July 16 – July 31: Author study (Topic TBD)
