So B. It

Filed under: Look What I'm Reading for Book Club! — katefrazer @ 7:00 pm

I read So B. It by Sarah Weeks for bookclub this week.  This is another book that I’ve had students read and recommend, so I decided to try it.  The story is told by 12 year-old Heidi who lives in an apartment with her mentally disabled mother and agoraphobic neighbor (There apartments have a conjoining door, so Bernadette can spend most of her time with Heidi and her mom without leaving her home.).  Heidi leaves the safety of her sheltered life in Nevada to learn more about her mom who can only speak 23 words.  Heidi is a brave and smart kid and I was definitely rooting for her to find out the truth.
