What an interesting blog — take a look. These are younger male teens. What do you think about their reading interests as expressed here? KES

  1. I found this site so interesting because for Dr. Kennedy’s class I have been doing a literature review article on the reading habits/interests of boys. It has been a semester long project and I am always looking for new information. Further, I am so happy to see boys engaged in reading and talking about their reading lives. It is definitely encouraging, especially after all of the information I discovered while researching. I thought the best post by a teen was “David’s top 5”, where this 12 year old male blogger lists his favorite books of 2007, which include sports titles and Harry Potter, as well as The Outsiders, which surprised me the most. I wonder as David ages if he will continue to love reading as much as he does now. I sincerely hope he does, and I hope his teachers recognize and utilize the genres that most interest him.

  2. This is a great blog. I was not surprised a see variety in the profile of each reader. I have many boys in my classes that would identify themselves in similar ways. I was looking at the information on LOOKING FOR ALASKA, and I was really surprised to see that they arem kaing that into a movie. I will be looking for more information on that.
