Professor David Hursh from the University of Rochester will be speaking on TH night at 7:00. See Below. I know people on campus who have heard David Hursh and they tell me not to miss this discussion, the title of the lecture is also the title of his new book. This seems an important opportunity for anyone in our MAT/MSED programs. I hope you will consider attending. Thursday, March 20thHigh Stakes Testing and the Decline of Teaching and Learning: The Real Crisis in EducationA conversation with Dr. David Hursh of the University of Rochester’s Warner Graduate School of Education. Dr. Hursh’s talk will take place at 7:00 on Thursday, March 20th in Corey Union, Exhibition Lounge. Dr. Hursh will examine the changing nature of education from several perspectives: autobiographical, historical, political, and philosophical. Through the combination of narrative, research, and theory, he describes the consequences for teachers and students that result from the current high stakes climate. Sponsored by the Campus Artist and Lecture series, the C.U.R.E. Program, and the Foundations and Social Advocacy Department.
