Looking Ahead to TH’s Class

Filed under: from your prof — sunyprof @ 8:31 pm

Dear Writers,

I’m going to set aside time for those of you who are writing fiction for the project to come together on TH afternoon. Please bring something from this piece you are proposing to write to share w/other writers.

We’ll establish a writing schedule–with a piece of the writing due after the March break.

Do share here whether or not you are joining this group. Great opportunity here to have support for your own creative work.

Those of you who are not writing fiction–I’d be in that group by the way–we’ll also meet on TH afternoon to talk over ideas you have for writing for publication for this project.

Also, please bring your fleshed out seminar topic with a list of books you are considering reading. Keep in mind that a narrowed focus is important. Choosing (as best you can) titles that support your project topic interest and work together for reasons you have determined is critical.

We will put together the seminar schedule on TH as well. Thanks!! Don’t hesitate to get in touch to talk about seminar. Email/blog or in person.

Hand or online searches in (or out of) the library — ALAN Review, ENGLISH JOURNAL, SCHOOL LIBRARY JOURNAL, VOYA, YALSA, RETHINKING SCHOOLS, JOURNAL OF ADOLESCENT AND ADULT LITERACY, VOICES FROM THE MIDDLE — all good places to find critical articles for your seminar. KES

  3. Please include me in the writing group as well. I’m glad to be able to workshop a little with my idea. In the past some of the best revisions I’ve made to writing work have been the result of sharing drafts.

  4. I, too, will be joining the writing group. I have a rough outline of a story, but haven’t had much of a chance to get started with it.
