Conferences on TH, etc.

Filed under: from your prof — sunyprof @ 5:19 pm

Dear Teachers,

I’d like to chat one-on-one with you about your seminars and especially the project for 619 starting this week. I will be available on TH starting at c. 2:45 (I finish teaching at 2:30) up until 4:00 when I will be moving down the hall to 120 as you know. If you can come in for 10 or 15 minutes during that time slot and would like to talk about either your project or seminar, sign up here in the comment section. I’m afraid I am teaching and then facilitating the student teaching colloquium on TUES afternoon during those afternoon hours you might be on campus for another class but I will add more opportunities for conferencing next week.

I am also happy to meet with Syr. area students on days I don’t go to campus if there is a convenient time for you to chat with me at B&N on Erie Blvd. That would leave more time for folks who do not live in the Syr. area on the days I am on campus. Let me know what is good for you.

Also, I’ve noticed that often after we’ve talked about a title, the blog posts on those titles stop.

I’d like to encourage more posts after as well as before class discussions as well. Either share insights produced in small groups, respond to issues that come up in class discussion or reading from our “pedagogy” texts, or reflect on what continues to be of interest to you and to your blog-mates about these titles.

I look forward to posts on book club reading (what are you reading that you might not typically pick up and why?) as well as the lit circle books for this week when we continue the theme of reading African-American authors.

If you are starting to read Crutcher (and you should be!) and need help finding particular titles, please let me know.

Later in the week I’ll post prices of the books I “sold” in class last week. Thanks for remembering to bring $ on TH. Back to reading! KES

  2. Are you available Wed afternoon in Syr? I could head over to B&N at any point since I believe my Wed evening class has been cancelled this week. Thanks 🙂
